Computer Recycling Centers in USA

This page lists computer recycling centers in the USA. these are businesses that usually charge something to accept ewaste from other businesses or residences.

There are also local programs, usually at the county or city level, in which this highly poisonous garbage is accepted for recycling at no charge. Unfortunately, many areas have no such programs.

Computers and electronic devices MUST be recycled. They are toxic waste 30 to 100 times over. In landfills the poison often travels into local water supplies, and most of these poisons NEVER break down into harmless chemicals.

This applies to computers and their parts, monitors, ipods, batteries, electronic appliances, cell phones, fax machines, copiers - anyuthing with electronics.

Click here for information  about government-sonsored   computer recycling in NJ at the county level.  Some provide a real recycling service, other provide almost nothing.

Here is a map, provided by Google, for finding recycling centers in your area.
