Why monitor?
For years larger businesses knew they had to monitor backups, no matter how fancy their equipment.
Any software can become scrambled or stop running.
This is especially bad for a backup. Very bad.

This is a real risk for the business that does not have someone to reliably pay attention to it.  

You shouldn't have to worry about it. So we monitor it 
for less than you would pay a minimum wage employee.
No extra charge. Computer backup online is where it starts. This is where it becomes business class reliable. No online backup system for small business is more reliable than a high quality online computer backup system with monitoring.

Why is backup of "versions" better
than "days of backup"?
A "version" refers to a change in a file.
When a file is changed a new version is created.
Most online backup services save the files for each day, between 1 and thirty days worth.

But what if the version of the file you need was longer ago than that? What if the file became corrupted without you knowing about it, and has laid unused for months, but is still a valuable file. This is a common scenario. You might need to restore a version that was changed months ago.

Saving backups by versions gives you this protection. Savinbg by days does not.

Saving backups by versions is better for protection from viruses and other issues as well. It is usually the preferred approach for big data centers and larger companies.

Ten Versions
Zocobu Online Computer Backup in the standard setting preserves 10 versions at all times. This is sometimes increased or decreased by the tech team for you, based on the needs and preferences you tell us.

In additon, files that have been deleted from your system are kept in storage for 30 days. When we set up the service for you, this period can be made longer, if that is important to you, or shortened.

What is the support like?
If your backup does not run for a few days, we send you an email to notify you and ask if we should be in touch. (There could be a good reason that it happened. Like a vacation. You can also request a higher vigilence level.) 

We correct the problem at a convenient time.  
No extra charge.

Support for network problems
If your network has problems that are preventing the backup from running, we can fix them, although your servcie contract only covers the backup software and service. If you want us to address any network issue, we can and are expert in doing so across the Internet. We would bill you at a cost per quarter hour of $35. Most problems are corrected in a half hour or less.

Pricing

Prices are based on a cost per GB plus a charge for monitoring. Instead of the charge for monitoring common from other IT vendors (between $75 and $150), we calculate in a base charge of about $30, and slightly higher for larger amounts of data.
